Hollow Irons Designed The Right Way!

In the continuing effort to produce the most playable golf clubs for those players that need it, Ralph Maltby has designed one of the most advanced irons ever developed. Based on the premise that it's what's inside that truly counts, the AST (Advanced Shell Technology) irons wall thicknesses are precise in their configuration in each head, maximizing the performance of each club. The weight distribution pushes the center of gravity as low and to the rear as it has ever been in the irons that it matters most, the DI iron and the 4 iron( the long irons). The set progresses in design with a different inside cavity design in the 5, 6 and 7 irons, again with the emphasis on placing the weight in the proper place inside the head.

This progressive set also takes an Advanced Sole approach, by creating an extremely wide sole in the long irons, with a slightly narrower sole in the 5, 6 and 7 iron and progressing even more in the short irons. The wide sole design in the long irons adds weight low and to the rear making these long irons the easiest to get airborne ever developed. Also, the wide sole practically eliminates hitting the fat shot. Although the sole does narrow throughout the set, the dimensions in the mid and long irons are still considered wide by today's standards. This wide sole design feature improves the playability tremendously by locating the center of gravity in the best place for each head and makes each head very “turf forgiving”. Also, due to the width of the sole on the long and mid irons, the measured bounce reading is 0 degrees, but the sole width actually provides the most effective bounce reaction when the ball is struck.
